Grapefruit Juice Diet

Grapefruit contains the substances which can burn fat. There are several kinds of this diet, duration of which is 7 days, and all of them are low-cal (800-1000 calories per day). You will lose about 4 -5 kg. Grapefruit diet is well balanced and contains a large quantity of vitamins and mineral matters. Citrus fruit is rich in vitamin C that is why you will not only lose excess weight but also will be able to resist many illnesses. Moreover, vitamin C is vitally necessary for our skin cells. The regular use of grapefruit will help you get the necessary dose of this vitamin.
 
While being on this diet you should avoid eating salt, sauces and spices. You may drink a glass of kefir or eat an apple or orange between your main meals. Don`t forget to drink a large quantity of beverages which contain caffeine (without milk and sugar) during your meal.
 
This diet is easy to follow and will definitely help you to lose weight.
 
Here is the most widely used grapefruit diet.
 
Day 1st
Breakfast: grapefruit juice without sugar or 1 grapefruit; two pieces of lenten ham (each 25 g), coffee or tea without.
Dinner: 1 grapefruit; 250 g of vegetable salad (any vegetables but potato and corn) dressed with lemon juice and strewed by verdure; coffee or tea.
Supper: 150 g of boiled or grilled lenten meat; 200 g of green salad with lemon juice; tea with honey.
 
Day 2nd
Breakfast: grapefruit juice without sugar or 1 grapefruit; 2 boiled eggs; coffee or tea (without sugar).
Dinner: 1 grapefruit; 50 g of cheese (content of fat - 20-30%) or fatless cottage cheese.
Supper: 200 g of fish (boiled or grilled); large portion of vegetable salad (cucumber, cabbage, broccoli, pepper, etc.); dress it with 1 tea spoon of lemon juice and 1 tea spoon of olive oil; 20 g of brown bread.
 
Day 3rd
Breakfast: grapefruit juice without sugar or 1 grapefruit; 2 table spoons of oatmeal or muesli with 1 table spoon of raisins and pounded nuts (but peanuts) and 4 table spoons of degreased yoghurt or milk.
Dinner: 1 grapefruit; one cup of vegetable soup or transparent bouillon with two rusks.
Supper: 200 g of chicken breast (grilled or boiled); 2 baked tomatoes; before going to bed eat a half of grapefruit.
 
Day 4th
Breakfast: one glass of tomato juice; 1 boiled egg; tea with lemon.
Dinner: 1 grapefruit; a large portion of salad (carrot or green vegetables) dressed with lemon juice and olive oil; a slice of bread.
Supper: 400 g of boiled or stewed vegetables (vegetable marrow, cabbage, beet, carrot, celery); tea; before going to bed - fresh grapefruit or juice.
 
Day 5th
Breakfast: fruit salad (apple, grapefruit and orange); coffee or tea with lemon.
Dinner: 1 large baked potato; 200 g of vegetable salad (green vegetables or cabbage).
Supper: 200 g of lenten beef or 250 g of small chicken breasts or 250 g filleted fish; tomato juice or the baked tomato; before going to bed - grapefruit or juice.
 
Day 6th and day 7th select one of the menus enumerated above. Don`t eat after 7 p.m.
 
Attention: Low-cal diets can cause fatigue, nausea and constipation. Grapefruit diet is counter-indicative to people with gastritis and stomach ulcer.
